Today is the International Day of Peace or World Peace Day. What does peace mean to you? Perhaps it is something you are personally searching for? Scripture teaches us that Jesus is the Prince of Peace; he is the way to peace. Start with Jesus.

Heavy laden and broken I come

In search of peace and a way to turn

My heart is heavy, my body weak

In need of forgiveness it’s you I seek

Your passion your love it was revealed

My sin, my shame no longer concealed

Every pierce and strike you bore for me

So that in my heart I could be free

I fall to my knees at the foot of the cross

Oh what pain, the precious loss

It was my sin that held you there

My hurt, my shame and my despair

Your blood flowed and the healing came

I knew then my life would never be the same

For I am forgiven and I am free

All because Jesus you bled for me

The curtain was torn and I entered in

Victory over death and sin

And now you are seated enthroned on high

My heart now free and ready to fly
