Day 1 - Seven Day Sound Mind Christmas Challenge
Updated: Dec 31, 2019
So we are now very much in the Christmas season. And it is a wonderful time of year. However for some it may not feel this way, for instance do you suffer with anxiety and stress? I have heard many people say that this is the hardest time of year for maintaining a healthy mind.
So this week we are taking back our sound minds by meditating on the word of God and his promises. So our first promise is a command to be still.
Psalm 46 v 10 Be still and know that I am God.
I love one translation of this verse where it says ‘cease striving and know that I am God’.
This can be a very busy time of year and if you are stressed this can cause your mind to suffer. However, this verse reminds us that when we truly know who God is, then there is no need to stress. When he is in control of your life, you can be calm even in the midst of the busyness.
So, when you feel the Christmas rush begin to rob your peace filled mind, hit the pause button, take a moment, stop striving, stop fighting and remember what this season is truly about, in particular who God really is, and allow the calm to wash over you.
Instead of getting carried away in the rush, be still and know that he is your God.
